composer's notes
This piece explored the liminal space between dreams and reality. It was an ambient and movement heavy piece which led to ambient and rhythmic music being composed. The piece surrounded 3 dream types - repetitive, lucid, and daydreaming. The individual dreams had corresponding music to accompany the scenes and add to the feeling the words are trying to invoke. For example, I wrote Factory for repetitive dreams - the piece is very repetitive with little twists and turns, but is also in 5/4 to give a feeling of unease and “not-quite-right-ness”.
